Late last month in June 2024, we had the privilege of offering our Exclusive Personal Shopping Day Experience to a client working on a project in St John’s Wood, North West London. This new service is designed for clients who may not require the commitment of a full interior design package but still value expert guidance in sourcing finishes and furnishings.
Here’s how our bespoke shopping day unfolded:
Prepping for the Day
Preparation was key to ensuring the day ran smoothly and efficiently. We started by:
Curating a list of locations and suppliers tailored to the client’s needs.
Organizing a detailed folder with moodboards and CAD drawings, divided by room and labeled for quick reference during showroom visits.
The Shopping Experience
Lunch and First Stop: Clerkenwell
Before diving into our busy itinerary, we enjoyed a quick lunch to fuel up for the day. Our first destination was the design-centric area of Clerkenwell, where we explored options for:
Wall and floor tiles for the bathrooms and WCs at Domus, discovering a selection of stunning designs.
Wood flooring for the townhouse at Havwoods, where we reviewed a variety of finishes aligned with the client’s design brief.
Next Stop: Fulham, Near King’s Road
Our journey continued in Fulham, close to the iconic King’s Road—a haven for interior shopping. Here, we focused on sourcing a new kitchen:
Exploring a range of kitchen styles, worktops, and finish options.
Providing the client the chance to see and feel materials firsthand, essential for assessing quality and ensuring the selections aligned with their vision.
We also collected several samples to create a comprehensive samples board, which will help integrate the finishes into the overall design.
The Outcome
The day was a resounding success! The client was thrilled with the progress, and we finalized specifications for all the finishes required to begin bringing their dream design to life.
This bespoke service not only provided expert guidance but also made the process enjoyable and stress-free for our client.
