A Facade Workshop Hosted By Cosentino x Fischer

Dear Readers of A.D.O.A.I.D,

A little while back Sabrina Yvonne was invited to attend an exclusive facade workshop and networking evening hosted by Cosentino and Fischer. To give you a bit of background about who they are and what they mean for us in the world of interior design and architecture.

Cosentino Group is a global, family-owned Spanish company that produces and distributes innovative, sustainable and high-value surfaces for the world of architecture and design.

Providing solutions for Kitchens, Bathrooms, Walls, Flooring, Facades and so much more. Especially now, as we move over to the world of sustainability, this is the future of design.

The Fischer Group on the other hand provide a number of different products and solutions, one of them is; The Fischer Facade system which offers innovative and high-quality all-in-one solutions for the secure and aesthetic installation of ventilated rainscreen façades.

Together, with this innovative collaboration, we see sustainability working well and building it's foundation.

Now, back to the main event! The event was due to start at approx. 3:30pm. They were initially planning to start with the presentations, followed by the workshop but they switched it up, due to a slightly later start and more guests arriving. Giving us the opportunity to network and mingle with other designers, and share stories on our own personal journeys into the industry.

Once everyone had arrived, we began the workshop, working in teams of four to put together the facade system from scratch after watching a brief demonstration from the hosts. The workshop consisted of a practical installation of a mini façade system using Dekton material and Fischer systems. We then had a mini break to eat a few nibbles and drink and an opportunity to explore the new showroom in Hatton Garden.

It is such a beautiful showroom, with its grandeur appearance, modern yet traditional interior shell, elegant feature lighting, flooring, walls, and surfaces showcasing all their new products. I had a quick peek in the samples library and appreciated the many selections they had available.

To bring the event to a close, we were given a brief presentation by Cosentino followed by another presentation by Fischer. We watched a case study showing their popular products Dekton, which is a carbon neutral porcelain surface and Silestone, a hybrid mineral surface used on well known buildings, externally and internally.

The event finally came to a close with more nibbles, drinks and networking and a goody bag of designer approved practical goodies! that’s what we love. Overall, it was an enjoyable and productive evening. We would definitely recommend going on showroom visits, events and workshops like these to look at and feel products in real time to understand what they can do for you, your clients or your projects.

I will be back with another post next week. Don’t forget to watch my reel here or click on the image above to redirect you to our reel to see highlights of the event.
