A Facade Workshop Hosted By Cosentino x Fischer

A Designer’s Experience: An Exclusive Evening with Cosentino and Fischer

Dear Readers of A.D.O.A.I.D,

A little while back, I had the privilege of attending an exclusive façade workshop and networking evening hosted by Cosentino and Fischer. It was an enlightening event, blending innovation, sustainability, and creative collaboration. Let me share a bit about these two remarkable brands and the inspiring evening they put together.

The Hosts: Leaders in Design and Sustainability

Cosentino Group is a global, family-owned Spanish company renowned for producing and distributing high-value, sustainable surfaces for architecture and design. From kitchens and bathrooms to facades and flooring, their innovative solutions are shaping the future of sustainable design.

The Fischer Group, on the other hand, specializes in groundbreaking façade systems. Their Fischer Facade System provides all-in-one solutions for secure, aesthetic installations of ventilated rainscreen facades, marrying functionality with design excellence.

Together, these brands are laying the foundation for a more sustainable future in architecture and design.

The Event: Networking, Workshops, and Inspiration

The event began around 3:30 PM, with an initial focus on networking. A slight schedule shift gave us extra time to mingle with fellow designers and share stories of our journeys in the design world—a wonderful way to connect and gain fresh perspectives.

Once all guests had arrived, the workshop began. In teams of four, we were tasked with assembling a façade system using Dekton, Cosentino’s carbon-neutral porcelain surface, and Fischer’s innovative systems. After a brief demonstration, we got hands-on, putting together mini façade installations. The process was both engaging and educational, providing invaluable insights into the practical application of these products.

Exploring the Hatton Garden Showroom

During a short break, we explored the stunning Cosentino showroom in Hatton Garden. The space was a perfect blend of modern sophistication and traditional elegance, featuring striking feature lighting, luxurious surfaces, and beautifully curated displays of their latest products. A quick peek into the samples library revealed an impressive array of choices for any design project.

Presentations and Case Studies

The evening continued with presentations from both Cosentino and Fischer. Cosentino highlighted their groundbreaking products, including:

  • Dekton: A carbon-neutral surface ideal for facades and countertops.

  • Silestone: A hybrid mineral surface used in high-profile buildings worldwide.

Fischer showcased their façade systems, detailing how their solutions integrate seamlessly with Cosentino’s materials to create secure and sustainable designs.

A Perfect Ending

The event concluded with more networking, refreshments, and the delightful surprise of a goody bag filled with designer-approved goodies (always a bonus!). It was a productive and enjoyable evening, brimming with inspiration and practical takeaways.

Why These Events Matter

Attending workshops and showroom visits like this is invaluable for designers. Experiencing materials and systems firsthand helps us understand their potential and how they can transform our projects. Whether you’re sourcing for clients or exploring new possibilities, events like this are a must.
